McDonalds used to be one of my favorite
places to eat. All my life I enjoyed their double cheeseburgers, Big
Macs, regular cheeseburgers, and even their plain hamburgers. And
their milk shakes were always the best. Of course their French fries
were unbeatable!!!!! When
they changed the French fry recipe including the cooking oil, I
continued to go there. I just stopped buying the fries.
When they raised prices I didn't care.
It was still worth it!!!!!
But now I will not ever again go to
McDonalds because ALL their staff speaks ONLY Spanish.
Sure they speak in a lazy, broken
English to customers when they request their orders. But, amongst
themselves and almost always behind the counter, the staff speak only
Spanish.
And this is in many of the McDonalds
in the Chicago area.
This is America! Our language is
English.
Over the last few years, I have asked
managers about this disgusting situation and, of course, they listen
quietly and then simply say "Si".
McDonalds fails to realize that it
could help America's immigrants if it insisted that they learn English
by speaking English.
They would also be helping America
continue to be the great melting pot is has always been.
